This morning, our ladies and gents enjoyed a session with one of the musicians who visits the home every fortnight. Paul Stanworth spent an hour at the home entertaining the residents and played around 15 hits from the 50s, 60s and 70s to a delighted crowd.
Playing songs by The Kinks and The Beatles in our light and bright conservatory, Paul ensured the residents thoroughly enjoyed the session. The residents were also offered tambourines, so that they could interact with the music.
This music session is just one type of activity we offer to entertain and stimulate the residents. We also run bingo twice each week, offer arts and crafts sessions twice each week and regularly hold quiz hour and sing-alongs. The activities are designed, so that as many people as possible can participate. We listen to our residents and only organise entertainment that they request.
Paul’s music sessions always go down well with the residents and we look forward to Paul returning to Hilgay soon.
